In this article it talks about how an MRI scan can show how a child’s brain is developing. It identifies active neural circuits based on blood flow and blood oxygen levels. The scanner’s image is then put into a computer where it maps out the patterns of neural activity. As a child grows doctors would be able to see how their brain is maturing and if the development is normal. This amazing advancement can help doctors better understand autism, schizophrenia, and other things linked to abnormal brain development. I find it truly amazing how medicine continues to evolve and come up with new techniques and ways to better understand diseases and illnesses. This new capability of an MRI scanner can help doctors to see if a child is growing and developing normally. This could potentially help doctors catch illnesses earlier on and try and treat them before they get worse. I think that it is such a good idea for medical professionals to focus on children and focus on how they are developing. This may ensure that they live a healthy, normal life. Catching a problem with their brain early on is better than finding out later on in their life when it is too late. I feel like it is a good thing that medicine is focusing on ways to catch a potential problem early on and prevent it. The MRI scanner may be more useful than we thought. I would hope that if I were to ever have a medical problem that doctors would catch it early enough that they could do something about it. I would want to prevent diseases but that’s easier said than done. Now it is happening. Medicine is advancing and soon they will find out how mental illnesses develop. From this they may be able to find cures.

yes this is a great example on how technology in the world is constantly increasing. the practice of medicine is continually gaining new ideas and practices which are continually helping people around the world. Medical technology today is a feature not just of hospitals, clinics but also of homes. The practice of medicine has been revolutionized by computers, digitisation, new materials and good old-fashioned laboratory research. this is great that using the MRI that they can find things in advance which may help increase a patients life. around the world their is many campaigns on raise money for research, and now look at all the research that has been done, people lives are being saved by it. if people continue on developing new ideas maybe in the future we wouldn't have to worry about dieing of cancer or other diseases because their might be a new idea that can help cure it. The MRI is a great step for the future now researchers just need to continue building on these ideas and new developments will continue to happen.

If this MRI technology continues to develop, there will be immense benefits in the medical world. If doctors are able to see how the brain activity of a healthy individual varies with that of someone who has an illness such as szchizophrinia, they will be able to detect these illnesses much earlier on in an individual. As Alicia said, early detection of these diseases is key, and would largely increase the rate of successful. Treatment is of course vital, however if doctors can detect these conditions early enough, they will be much easier to treat.

I feel that the government should fund large amounts of money to research in these types of areas, as early detection and treatment is vital if the amount of people with these diseases is to be lowered.

ya government should increase funding in research but look how many different type of researching thats done. how do you choose on which should get more funding, every research to medicine is important. if they give to one the others might look like thier not important. research has its pros and cons, pros that it helps develop new ideas but thier comes a cost and lots of time to develop these ideas. the gov't has a tough time deciding who get the finds. thats why they have campaign to help raise money.
