This article talks about the possibility of a new species discovered through fossils. Scientsist are naming these fossils found in Southern China as the people of the Red Deer Cave, who are said to have a mixture of archaic and modern characteristics. I find this article interesting as this is a new chapter in learning about human evolution. The information presented by the fossils offers new insight to what our species, Homo sapiens, once were. This will also help us retrace our past and learn how we came to be as we are today.

This discovery is quite exciting! Any information on our lineage may be able to help us gain insight into the modern structure of the homo sapien. The skeletons found in the article are said to have large molar teeth, thick skull bones, and even different development patterns of their brains. This makes me curious about why these features changed. Was there really a reason? What changes occured on the Earth between their time and ours to encourage these adaptations in the human structure? Will the modern structure of the human ever change? With investigation into the differences between former humans and humans today, we may be able to predict what is to become of our species.

I too am incredibly intrigued by the discovery discussed in this article. As Cassidy stated, it leads one to wonder what the Homo Sapien species may evolve to become in the future. It struck me as interesting that paleoanthropologists do not have an actual definition of the human species which contributes to the conflicting views on exactly how the Red Deer Cave people came to exist and the reason behind their distinctness from modern humans. Based on the article it seems that their are essentially three reasonable possibilities...
1. The Red Deer Cave people are a primitive-looking group of Homo Sapiens who lived separately from other forms in Asia until their extinction
2. They are a distinct species of the genus Homo, that evolved and lived alongside our species until recently
3. They are a hybrid of modern humans and archaic humans who lived around that time
Feel free to post your opinion on the issue![center]

Actually I find this so discovery so interesting, because as a society we can learn more about our pasts. Without this discovery we wouldn’t have as much information to build off from the past to help build into the future. This article about the Red Deer Cave skulls and fossils helps distinguish possibly theories we have built up from the past and will continue in the future. Possibly if there are a couple fossils found of a species, there could be many more nearby waiting for discovery. This discovery is important for our world because as humans we know a lot about other evolution of creatures but as it seems less of ourselves, this is an interesting edition to this knowledge

This is so interesting. Just the thought of discovering a new species that can shape the way we see human life today, is amazing! I personally believe that the news about this discovery should be spreading to other nations as well, because we all deserve to know what our past was like. Also, further studies should be done on the evidences to make sure is not just some kind of false alarm, and I also hope to be hearing about what further discoveries have been done soon.
